Liberal Polls:
Liberal Successor

The Liberals bungled the Leadership change from Sir Robert Menzies from 1966 to 1974. A series of accidents and infighting marked a period of instability. This was replicated in the post-Fraser era, as Andrew Peacock and the younger John Howard wrestled for the Leadership in the 1980s.

The important issue, is that when John Howard finally retires, the Liberals must not destroy themselves.
